Budget Makeup part 2

Some items just run out. And it happens so fast, you dont even notice. Yes, like eye liner and mascara….before you know it kaboom!!! theyr gone. And I’m like Dang woman! you use alot!

That’s why you need to have a bag of budget make-up. I recently bough LAKME’s eyeconic duo; Mascara + liner and you know what, I like.

The Eyeconic liner and mascara by Lakme (BTW It does not come with those flowers, that’s how I keep my son busy when I’m putting on my make up…Stickers!)

Here’s a little bit on the liner……

Its water proof, which is great because it can get hot and sweaty in India. I wouldn’t recommend wearing it without a base of either a compact or some foundation…..as it will spread if you begin to sweat in the eye region.

It gives a really nice dark matte black finish which is great if that’s what you’re looking for.

It has a shelf life of 30months and lasts me about 3 to 3.5 months, which is really ideal.

The twisty pencil does not come with a sharper, which can be a downer if you really wanted one with it. I know that Bourjois and other brands do give a little sharper at the bottom end of their twisty pencil liners.

Besides that, like all liners its easy to store and fits in most bags.

The Mascara is…

Does what its meant to do, adds a little volume and length to the lashes, nothing fancy. Just plain old mascara.

The stick does say curling mascara, so must do something to the lashes but nothing significantly different from your natural lashes.

It does the job for a light day look or an office look, where you want a clean subtle finish.

Would I recommend it to others? Yes I would recommend this pair. Its great to have because your spending less and getting a good product.

The liner cost 210 MRP and the mascara cost 399.

budget makeup that does the job

Its well and good if you want to spend on fancy brands for expensive makeup. But if you want budget products that work just as well, then keep on reading.

Of all the products in my makeup bag, the ones I run out of in say 2 months are compact face powder and eyeliner.
So I like to keep one set that id wear on special nights and one set that I can wear everyday.

So I picked up Loreals Matt Magique.
You absolutely cannot step out of the house without this in your bag. Its perpetually hot here in central India, where im located and I touch up about every hour or so. Heres why its nice:

– it has a matte finish, therefore prevents your skin from looking sweaty or shiny.
– it comes in a small case, which ensures I can fit in any corner of my bag..
– it gives a 60 to 70 % coverage and is surprisingly affective when it come to giving my skin an even tone. including the all important under eye area.
– it has an spf of 34 which is more that what most other products offer in this range
– and I paid just 399 Rs for it. Imagine that!

what I didnt like about the product.
– the mirror in the box does not face the power, so you need to keep flipping sides. but the advantage of that is the mirror is always powder free!
